Who We Are Brief History Program Overview About AGBU |
![]() ![]() The Generation Next Mentorship Program was created in 1997 by a handful of volunteers under the auspices of the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) and with the administrative assistance of the Glendale Unified School District (GUSD). The pilot year started in January of 1998 with eight mentees selected from three Glendale High Schools. In the later years the program was modified and expanded to include group activities, case managers and parenting seminars, modeled after nationally recognized mentoring programs. Throughout the years the program has grown into a professionally managed and highly recognized community service that has enrolled hundreds of students (mentees) ranging from the seventh to twelfth grades |
